Please join The Salvation Army of Johnson County as a volunteer for our Be The Shield 2016 Holiday Campaign Kick-Off starting at 8am on October 29th located at Coral Ridge Mall in front of Scheels. We will be launching our 2016 season of giving which includes the distribution of Thanksgiving meals, Toys For Tots, and our Red Kettle campaign which supports The Salvation Army of Johnson County’s year round programs. This year’s highlight event will be the First Annual Catch The Shield - Superhero 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Run. The Salvation Army of Johnson County is encouraging everyone to participate and dress as their favorite superhero! We will be challenging 5K runners to “Catch the Shield” as Charlie Funk, President & CEO of MidWestOne Bank, will be released ahead of the field with an incentive for participants to earn a reward of $50 by catching him before crossing the finish line. The kick-off will also include a giant Red Kettle Bouncy House, the launching of the annual Johnson County Mayors Ring Challenge, music, the announcement of The Salvation Army of Johnson County’s 2016 Be The Shield Holiday Goal and much more!
