The Resource Management Division provides garbage, recycling, and composting programs via services offered at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center, drop-off recycling locations, and a residential curbside collection program.

Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center

The Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center is where the landfill, several recycling programs, the Compost Facility, and the Hazardous Material Collection Facility are located. 

These services are available to residents and businesses in Johnson County, and within the city limits of Kalona and Riverside. Materials from outside of this service area are not accepted.

East Side Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd. SE, is a place where the community can learn about the environment, recycle, and reuse, with the help of our partner organizations located on site. Programs are available to residents and businesses in Johnson County, and within the city limits of Kalona and Riverside. Materials from outside of this service area are not accepted.
