Opportunities From: United Way Volunteer Center

Our Recycling Committee is made up of independent residents who help keep our recycling room organized and ready for pickup by our recycling vendor, and they always welcome extra help!

This is a very flexible volunteer opportunity. You may come once a week or up to three times a week — whatever fits your schedule. Each organizing shift takes about 30 minutes.

Volunteers also have the opportunity to suggest and help implement ideas to keep the recycling room clean, orderly, and running smoothly.

If you enjoy staying organized and want to contribute in a practical way to our community, this is a simple and meaningful way to get involved.

Each Friday in Assisted Living, we host a happy hour as a way for the residents to get together and socialize and enjoy each others company. As a happy hour helper, you can help invite residents to the activity, walk down with them, and help serve refreshments, while engaging in one on one and group interactions.

To assist recreation staff in transporting residents to and from enriching programs that stimulates residents’ senses. Programs range from speakers, to musicians, to themed dinners, and comedians.

As a friendly visitor, you will engage in one on one interactions with residents who may need additional support or could benefit from conversation. This opportunity can be many things: conversations, going for walks, doing puzzles together, reading aloud to, etc.
