The Coralville Community Food Pantry's mission is to nourish and provide hope for the Coralville community. We believe that no child or adult in our community should have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Individuals and families living in Coralville with unmet food needs can visit the pantry up to once a week to select from an array high-quality food and personal care items that best suit their unique needs.
The Coralville Community Food Pantry’s primary method of meeting the food needs of our community is by offering a weekly food assistance program. The program maintains a client-choice model, where food insecure families and individuals can visit the pantry once to a week to freely select food and personal care items that best suit their unique needs. To avoid unnecessary barriers, the only qualification to receive assistance is to be a Coralville resident. We know that hunger is unpredictable and can affect individuals of any income level, employment status, race, age, gender, ability, or sexual orientation. The pantry offers food assistance three times a week; on Tuesdays from 2-6pm, Wednesdays from 5-7pm, Thursdays from 10am-Noon, and Saturdays from 10:30am-1pm. The average household visits the pantry twice a month and selects 29 pounds of food per visit. In 2017, we anticipate serving 2,700 Coralville residents and distributing 300,000 pounds of food.
